Global Left step up Russian Revolution centenary commemoration preps

EXACTLY hundred years ago, the peasants, working class and disaffected soldiers in Russia overthrew the 300-year-old tyrannical Tsarist rule, and now this November, the global Left are poised to commemorate this epic event.

On 24th October, 1917 [November in today’s calendar], Russia’s aggrieved masses,  who had laboured under severe oppression under the Romanov dynasty’s centuries-old iron rule of the regime and the nobility, declared that enough was enough.

Commemorations are therefore about to kick off in several parts of the world, including Africa. In South Africa, for instance, celebrations will run from Sunday 5th of November to Friday 10th of November, 2017 in Johannesburg.
