Arsenal cut manager shortlist to three

Arseanl are closing in on naming a new manager after cutting down their shortlist of candidates to just three.

The Gunners hierarchy have been in talks over who they want to replace Arsene Wengerthis summer.

The Frenchman is leaving the Emirates after 22-years in charge, following a dreadful campaign.

And the North London club have now whittled down a 14-man list to just three names to succeed the 68-year-old.

Juventus boss Max Allegri is top of Arsenal’s wish-list, but his future is uncertain,according to the Telegraph.

He hinted he could be staying in Serie A following their Cup Final 4-0 win over AC Milan last night.

Former captains Mikel Arteta and Patrick Vieira are the two other names the club are eyeing.

The Gunners are waiting until the end of the season before upping their chase for aWenger replacement.

High-level discussions were held over the weekend after chairman Stan Kroenke flew into London.

He watched the 5-0 win over Burnley, before having talks with the other members of the Arsenal board.

The club have not decided whether or not to go for an experienced manager or young up-and-coming coach.
