South Africa’s Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema on Thursday sneaked through the kitchen at Brits Hospital in the country’s North West to listen to concerns the staff might have in line with the party’s declaration of 2018 as the year of public health.

And the EFF have continued to extol Winnie Madikizela-Mandela’s revolutionary legacy as they head into the crucial 2019 general elections.

In a twit posted by the EFF Media Team, Malema, referred to as Commander-In-Chief (CIC) by party adherents, paid an unexpected visit at the hospital.

“CIC goes through the kitchen at Brits Hospital to listen to the concerns and challenges the staff might have,” the twit read. “The EFF has declared 2018 the year of public health. As part of the programme CIC @Julius_S_Malema is at Brits Hospital on an un expected visit.”

And speaking at the close of an EFF Public Representatives Assembly, Malema signalled that EFF was ready for next year’s general elections.

“As we conclude yet another successful assembly for the EFF Public Representatives, CIC @Julius_S_Malema leads in song. Assuring that indeed the EFF is ready. #Woza2019,” a brief statement posted on the EFF Facebook page read.

The EFF during the same assembly continued its unequivocal position on the lauding of Mama Winnie’s revolutionary and struggle legacy.

“No other name has faced so much persecution, defamation, and ridicule from both the system and fellow comrades than that of Mama Nomzamo Winnie Madikizela-Mandela,” the EFF stated. “ We remember her as the first Female President, the liberation movement denied us. From Mama Nomzamo we learned true selflessness in the struggle. We learned fearlessness. We learned absolute commitment to the objectives of the revolution and struggle. We learned love and justice.”

The Economic Freedom Fighters is a South African far-left political party. It was started by expelled former African National Congress Youth League president, Malema, and his allies, in 2013. Malema is president of the EFF, heading the Central Command Team which serves as the central structure of the party.
